Looking Forward in 2025

This year, I am approaching my tenth year of service as Executive Director of the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation (TASF). I am deeply moved to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication. Your contributions have been instrumental in advancing our mission to honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen by providing scholarships to under-resourced and deserving students.
During my tenure, I have sought to raise the visibility of TASF, expand the tools we utilize to conduct business, promote greater efficiencies in our work, and foster improved collaboration between our donors and the activities we are collectively pursuing.
In these uncertain times, the impact on underserved students aspiring to attend college, particularly those aiming to major in aviation, aerospace, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) disciplines, cannot be overstated. The pursuit of higher education has become an increasingly difficult journey for many, but it is through your generous donations and corporate support that we are able to continue making a difference.
Looking ahead, I remain committed to seeking new funding sources to ensure the sustainability of our scholarship program. However, the financial support from committed and compassionate donors, including chapter support, will be crucial in meeting TASF’s goals. Although the changing political landscape may, for some, appear to be a turning back of time, I am optimistic that our collective efforts will unite us in the struggle to make education accessible to all who seek it.
Greater communication with our chapters is welcomed, particularly in terms of local students’ success and stories that highlight the level of achievement our recipients have garnered. Your involvement in their lives is a tremendous contribution.
The heroes of World War II fought valiantly for America’s freedom, and the original Tuskegee Airmen recognized the profound value of formal education. They took decisive action to make education accessible for under-resourced students, regardless of race. Today, we carry forward their legacy with a dual mission: to honor their contributions and to support the aspirations of future generations through scholarships.
Thank you once again for your continued support. Together, we can overcome any obstacle that attempts to diminish the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and ensure that the dream of higher education remains within reach for all.
Wishing you a wonderful 2025 filled with hope and progress.
Warm regards,
Edward Grice
