!TFAM Broadcast Alert October 28

Published since 2008, !TFAM is a bi-weekly lifeline that unites readers and asks them to  ensure the Tuskegee Airmen’s legacy of excellence. !TFAM provides an inside view into  the lives of Tuskegee Airmen and the people they influence.

Good day readers,

Friday, Cynthia Hopson, daughter of Spann and Edna Watson, sent an email  letting me know that her mom was moved to hospice that afternoon. Miss Edna  “can’t beat a resistant infection (103 ½ years old)”.

A few minutes ago, Patt Terrelongue sent a text, “Edna Watson passed away  last night at 10 pm”.

If you believe in Heaven, The Afterlife, Nirvana, or Valhalla, and I do, then Edna  and Spann are back together again.

I have a request to Tuskegee Airmen wives and surviving spouses, would you be  kind enough to send Cynthia Hopson a condolence email?. If you have a  memory that you’d like to share, please share it with Cynthia. Cynthia’s email  address is [email protected]

For everyone else who knew or remembers Edna, Spann, and/or Weyman, feel  free to drop Cynthia a line or two. And if you didn’t know them, but appreciate  their legacy, service to America, and TAI send a note. Thank you.

The picture of Edna was taken on her 100th birthday, March 21st (I think), 2021.

Lifelong friends with many of the airmen and their wives, Edna Watson often  asked Cynthia about the surviving airmen, their wives, and surviving spouses. She  met many of the wives when they were all stationed in Tuskegee when the  husbands were training and learning to fly.

Spann Watson, a distinguished Tuskegee Airman and American. Spann served his  country, family, and several organizations, including the FAA and TAI. Spann was the

third National TAI President in the is credited with helping get many African Americans  hired by the FAA.

Our heart goes out to you, Cynthia, and your other family members. We miss getting  reports about your mother. Please let us know about her final arrangements and  anything else you would like us to remember. Your parents, brothers, and you are  endeared to us.

Here are a couple of pictures from memory lane:
